We had a big weekend.
We moved in to our new house in Catoosa on Saturday. Here’s a picture of the moving party.

Then I preached my first sermon at Garnett on Sunday.
Everything went extremely well.

It Begins
This is my first official week in the office.
The boxes are unpacked.
Files have been put away.
Books have been shelved.
Now it’s time to figure out what I’m going to say this Sunday . . .
Actually, I’m thinking about what I’ll say over the next few months. I see these first 10 messages as being very important to helping the church get to know me as well as allowing me to find a rhythm and get comfortable with the audience.
The Ten Commandments (the cowboy way)
Just one God.
Honor yer Ma & Pa.
No telling tales or gossipin’.
Git yourself to Sunday meeting.
Put nothin’ before God.
No foolin’ around with another fellow’s gal.
No killin’.
Watch yer mouth
Don’t take what ain’t yers.
Don’t be hankerin’ for yer buddy’s stuff.
I apologize for the brief hiatus. We’ve been busy getting settled in and now I’m back in Washington to do my sister’s wedding. March 16th will be my first Sunday to preach at Garnett (finally!). This past Sunday the church officially welcomed me as their new preaching minister. It was an amazing experience. Very few preachers I know have ever been treated so well by a new congregation.
I wonder how well they’ll treat me when I start preaching hour long sermons!
