We finally got our phone installed at our new house. This means I’ll be able to blog from home. In fact, I’ll be able to blog while watching TV. Perhaps I’ll offer commentary during the commercials about what I think of tonight’s episode of “24.”
Archives for 2003
We had a big weekend. We moved in to our new house in Catoosa on Saturday. Here’s a picture of the moving party. Then I preached my first sermon at Garnett on Sunday. Everything went extremely well.
It Begins This is my first official week in the office. The boxes are unpacked. Files have been put away. Books have been shelved. Now it’s time to figure out what I’m going to say this Sunday . . . Actually, I’m thinking about what I’ll say over the next few months. I see these […]
Little Elijah
We found a house! Should close sometime next month. Heather has been helping me decorate my new office. She is doing an amazing job. I had a “look” I wanted for the walls and Jamie, a fantastically gifted young lady from our church, made it happen. I couldn’t be happier with it. We’re freezing to […]
Looking for Houses
We’ve been busy looking for houses. Haven’t done much except look for houses. It’s amazing how all the houses start to look alike after a while. I keep looking for one with a view of Mt. Baker, but I haven’t had any luck. I did see one yesterday that had a nice view of the […]

Long Day Tomorrow
Long day tomorrow. Boxes will be loaded on truck. House will be empty. Rug Doctor rented. Light tan (almost white!) carpets to be cleaned. My job. Hating myself for drinking and dripping so much Dr. Pepper in the living room.
A Solemn Vow
I have just taken a solemn vow to never use the word “postmodern” in a sermon or article again, unless the article (or blog entry) is about why I refuse to use the term. The reason for the vow is that using the word is totally unhelpful. Say “postmodern” and some people hear “relativism” and […]
30
I just turned thirty years old. Actually, I was born in the central time zone so I’ve been thirty for a couple of hours now.
Garnett
Now that its official I can blog about it. Last week I was offered and I accepted the position of preaching minister at the Garnett Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is the potential ministry opportunity Ive written about several times in the past. Its taken several months for both of us to complete our due […]
