You heard the man. It’s dead. What I thought was a routine medical procedure ended up killing my laptop. Several months of work is lost. Most of it wasn’t worth saving. A lot can be reconstructed from hard copies that are scattered around. All in all, it could have been much worse. I’m trying very hard not to think of this event in theological terms. Otherwise, I might come to the conclusion that God judged my recent work and found it to be wanting. Maybe this is a change in strategy. He no longer responds to heresy with lightning bolts, he just fries our hard drive and sends us back to the drawing board.
