What I’m Reading

I’m working through a couple of worthwhile books at the moment.

1. A Brief History of Everything by Ken Wilber. I continue to be fascinated and inspired by Wilber’s vision of the world. I got an email the other day telling me I can sit in one of his seminars for $3500. I think I’ll just read his books for now.

2. The Mountain of Silence by Markides. I picked this one up because I’m interested in the teachings and practices of Orthodox Spirituality. Within the first five pages he has mentioned Ken Wilber. Weird.

Woman of Worth

The Woman of Worth sermon from Proverbs 31 is now online.

Goodbye Little Buddy

Today was Jon Mullican’s last official day in the office. Jon has been the Administrator at Garnett for six years. He was instrumental in my coming to Garnett. In other words, if he hadn’t been here, I probably wouldn’t have come. Over the last year and three months Jon has become one of my closest and dearest friends. He’s moving on to a great ministry opportunity with the Highland Oaks Church in Dallas. He will be a blessing to them. He will also ask them question after question that will make their heads spin. What he didn’t get in height, he got in grey matter. I’m glad he’s only moving a few hours away. I’m sure I’ll end up in Dallas from time to time picking his brain over some chips and salsa.

Vayos con Dios little buddy

Humanity 2.0: The Source

I’ve posted the notes from the first message in my new series from Ephesians.

Thought Bomb

If becoming a part of our church places people in an environment that encourages them to live more frenetic lives than they were living before, then we are going about doing church the wrong way.
