Cope is talking about TV shows.
Now that 24 and Lost and American Idol and Prison Break (yes, Prison Break) are done for a while, I can get back to life. I’m really disappointed with myself. For years I’ve managed my TV time pretty well, but this last TV season I picked up some new shows that I can’t help but watch.
I like Numbers and The Unit. I love House and The Office. Heather didn’t like The Office at first, but I think she’s hooked after the episode on conflict resolution. I can’t look at Dwight without laughing. Then when he starts talking, I’m on the floor.
Example: I never smile if I can help it…. Showing one’s teeth is a submission signal in primates. When someone smiles at me, all I see is a chimpanzee begging for its life.

Now I know why all of my co-workers snicker when I introduce myself in meetings. Perhaps it’s time for a legal name change…?
No need to despair. Now you can watch So You Think You Can Dance (http://www.fox.com/dance)!
Wade, I love Prison Break, too! Great show. I too, watched more TV than I have in a long time. Hey, and don’t forget about Hell’s Kitchen!
House is addicting.
The Office makes me laugh more than any comedy in a long time. My son and I watch it together all the time. Funny, Funny, Funny. Some of the best casting on TV.
By the way, I’m in the market for a Dwight bobblehead.
Wade,
I love the office. NBC version of the office is a lot funnier than the BBC’s.
I basically hate TV save ESPN and The History Channel. I love The Office though and have worked with two Dwights in my life…one on a church staff but I digress.
Wade, stick to cable my friend…there is a life beyond the networks!
Wade,
My favorite line from the Office was from Michael at the beginning of gambling night: “Welcome old friends, new lovers, and the handicapped!”
I’ll skip Hell’s Kitchen this summer. The dude can’t be THAT good of a cook that he can insult everyone.
The Cracker Barrel folks would never treat someone like he does.
Most of my television watching this summer will consist of ESPN, MLB, NBA, etc.
All the good shows go off for the summer. I may get a Netflicks subscription and watch some seasons of shows that I missed.

Wade - That’s an interesting quote particularly viewed at the top of this blog with Dwight (I assume ) on the left and your smiling mug on the right.
I too have found myself involved in too many shows of late. Lost, Survivor, Amazing Race, ER (Been watching too long to give up on it), Alias (See ER comment) and ocassionally CSI. And I feel like I ought to watch The Office and 24.
I look forward to your posting/teaching on the “Postmodern mindlessness of watching TV”.
Thanks to my better half - I watch the taped version of Gilmore Girls to some steady degree. Nothing beats an hour’s worth of TV culled down to 43 minutes (sans commercials). House is pretty good, the Office is funny - I’ve seen a few episodes of each, Top Chef is good drama. But, I really try not get tied down to a TV schedule.
Dont for get.. How I met your mother!!! That show is a riot!!!
Last Comic Standing
Totally forgot this show existed till I saw audition night last night. I am a stand-up guru and have quite a large collection of CD’s, videos and DVD’s of stand-up comedians.

Good taste, my man.
