Cabo San Lucas

We spent a fantastic week in Cabo San Lucas. Absolutely beautiful in a Mexican desert sort of way. Perfect weather. We sat by the pool. We snorkelled in the Sea of Cortez. We ate chips and salsa for breakfast, lunch, dinner and breakfast.

We had a family at Garnett give us a week there in their time share. We used a family connection to score ridiculously cheap airfare. It was a good thing too. Once we got down there, we found ourselves spending way more money than we anticipated. You go into a restaurant and order a coke because you’re not supposed to drink the water. They bring a can of coke and pour it in a glass for you. You order two more before the meal is finished. You get the bill and see that each coke cost you $3.50. If that’s how much they charge for a coke, forget about ordering a margarita.

I’m a sucker for Chile Rellenos. I can’t help but order them in just about every Mexican restaurant I go into. I had some at Mi Casa that blew me away. Great tasting meat stuffed in a pepper and then smothered in a walnut cream sauce.

I’ve got a couple of stories to tell you soon. One is about the flight back and the other is about about what happens when a pushy time share salesperson locks horns with a burned out preacher who just wants to be left alone.
