Garnett is a part of the 24-7 Tulsa Prayer campaign. This is our week to pray. Our prayer center has had at least one person in it praying since noon on Sunday. I spent an hour there earlier today. I’m blown away by the requests taped to the wall and by the stories I’m hearing about the experiences waiting for those who show up early in the morning or in the middle of the night or in the middle of the day–to pray.
My favorite so far has been the one about a single mother who brought her three kids with her at 6 AM. They sat in one room quietly playing while she sat next door boldly praying.
Like MC Hammer said, “We got to pray just to make it today.”

How wonderful!
More Christians need to need to understand that Christianity is about knowing God (relationship through prayer) then knowing about God. What if every city and every church in country did what your church is doing what a differnce that would make in how the church functions, saving the lost, the world and on. Wade, God bless you brother!
This week leading up to Easter is always busy:
Sun-Palm Sunday
Wed-egg hunt for neighborhood kids
Thur- Maundy Thursday service
Fri-Good Friday Service
Easter-Sonrise Service before Sunday School
My favorite thing about this busy week at our little church is the 24 hr prayer vigil between the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services. I love the feeling of being at the foot of the cross in prayer; thinking of what the disciples who fell asleep missed because they didn’t understand; and knowing how blessed I am to have Christ’s sacrifice. A whole week of prayer would be amazing! I hope this experience is a tremendous blessing to Garnett.
Answer me this; was your wlllingness to do the 24 hour prayer vigil at all connnected (maybe even subconsciously) to your affection for “24″?
And we should also remember that on the same album as MC HAMMER’s “Pray” was a terrifically crude number entitled “soft and wet.” Oh, the license of dualism.
Jay–the prayer thing had nothing to do with the TV show–I can honestly say that.
I didn’t remember that song from that album. The prayer song stuck with me. Too bad the other stuck with you.

I am very jelouse of all the people who get to particapate in the 24/7 prayer stuff at church.. seeing as i don’t drive, and the only available hours i have this week are when normal people sleep i wasn’t able to sign up (my parents arent really the all-nighter type..). I guess my room will have to serve as the prayer center… i am so glad that our church is taking part in such an awesome campaign!
