New York Football Giants?

Why do some talking heads call them the “New York Football Giants”?

I didn’t know until I looked it up a few seconds ago.

“To distinguish itself from the professional baseball team of the same name, the football team was referred to as the New York Football Giants. Although the baseball team moved to San Francisco in 1957, the football team continues to use “New York Football Giants” as its legal corporate name.”

After 50 years, I think we can stop inserting “football” into their name. I don’t care what the official paperwork says.

Stop calling them the “New York Football Giants.”

It bothers me. . .a lot.

I agree. Especially after these “New York Football Giants” beat my beloved “Yuccaneers” a couple of weeks ago.

Amen!
It is get on my nerves. :-)

You’re kidding me right… Not only did you just call Chris Berman a ‘talking head,’ you really are annoyed by that? We need to talk.

I don’t know. Phrases like that could be kind of catchy, don’t you think? How about Pastor Wade “Preacherman” Hodges?

Peace and Go Giants!

Wade,

Are you actually upset about the name of the Giants? Or…are you actually upset that the Giants handed it to the Cowboys and you’re finding the shallowest way possible to express this frustration? Come on…you don’t have to hide things from your blog community. Besides, confession is good for the soul. Open up to us, man, we’re here with open arms.

Tell you what…you ‘necks quit calling the Cowboys “America’s Team” and the rest of the world might begin to possibly consider not calling the New York Football Giants the New York Football Giants.

One of the dangers of not growing up a baseball fan is that you don’t the answer to questions like this until you are in your mid 30’s and have a high speed internet connection at your beck and call.

Glad Maui was fun. Hope the “high” lasts a long, long time.

I agree with ‘Rob’…

“you ‘necks quit calling the Cowboys “America’s Team” and the rest of the world might begin to possibly consider not calling the New York Football Giants the New York Football Giants….”

“The Dallas Football Cowboys”

hmmmmm?

Well at least NY doesn’t put “Football” on their Jerseys. Although it might be a good reminder of what game their supposed to be playing. Hey…they could have shirts for golf, checkers, eating Cheetos - whatever.
