On March 3, 1985 Kevin McHale put up a record high 56 points against the Detroit Pistons. As Kevin was coming down from the ramp from the rear of the old Boston Garden, he was asked about the feat that night to which he jokingly responded that “the record won’t last, Larry will probably beat it within the next couple games.”
