U2

We had a great time at the U2 concert last night. We were in the last row of the third level of American Airlines Arena, but it didn’t matter. We were in the same room. Much love to my friend Brad for getting the tickets for us.

One of the highlights for me was Bono’s operatic rendition of Miss Sarajevo, especially when filtered through the “Sometimes . . .” lyric “You’re the reason why the opera is in me.”

Biggest disappointment: “Bad” was nowhere to be found on the set list.

  1. Boy, I’d have liked to be a fly on the wall in that room.

You’d think that in the name of love, Heather would have let you go buy that lemmon! I know that the Playboy Mansion is on the way, but you would keep running, right?

By the way, no “Bad” would be a huge disappointment. What is it about that song? It’s so dreamy.

  2. In the words of Mick. You can’t always get what you want. I’m jealous, just had surgery to reattached a tendon on my foot. Give me a few weeks then I am back on the concert circuit with Eliza Gilkyson and Strings Attached.

  3. Oh by the way I am enjoying the sermon series, it makes the hours on the west texas highways pass..

  4. Oh you must have been soooooo happy. They are in Atlanta in mid- November and were it not for two pesky little things (money and available tickets), I’d be there. Oh well, I guess I have to just keep living my life through your experiences instead!

Congrats. I know you have long wanted that.

  5. I hope you enjoyed the set.
Did they play Yahweh or “40”
They did on the 1st leg of the tour. I saw them in San Diego the 2nd night. I sold my 2 tickets to the Las Vegas this weekend so I can interview for a youth ministry job in AZ.
    U2
or going back into full time ministry.
It is time to make a big difference.
And also my $50 floor seats sold for $300 a piece.
    not to shabby ebay.
    for a interesting listen,
go to rolling stone mag.’s site and listen to the bono interview.
He shares about being in a bible study group.
I believe it is what lead him to write “One”
the part “You say love’s a temple”

  6. Glad to har that they are playing smaller arenas again after years of performing at stadiums. The last time I saw U2 was at Busch Stadium in St. Louis about 12 years ago. Unforgetable experience.

    Joel
